Arizona Department of Health Services Director Dr. Cara Christ addressed the surge in COVID-19 cases, rates and percent positivity in Arizona in a one-on-one interview with 12 News' Bianca Buono.
Dr. Christ said the department is "concerned" and that they are "watching those numbers". She went on to say that health experts have learned a lot over the last seven months and that Arizonans have done a good job of listening to the advice of health experts to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
Dr. Christ warned people not to let their guard down. She encourages people to continue wearing a mask and to maintain physical distancing even when at a family member or friend's house.
Dr. Christ said, right now, her biggest concern is Thanksgiving. She said she anticipates there will be a rise in cases 10-14 days after the holiday.
