Signs you are still not mature
As a kid, you always dream of the day you turn 18 so that you can make your own decisions in life. No more parents, no more consequences, right? But are you really mature enough to think for yourself at 18? Maturity has a lot to do with intellect and experience, so while some may be mentally mature at 15, others might only be this way at 25. Are you mature, let’s find out in this video.
Signs you are not mature
Dependency: Being mature helps you in making both minor and major life changing decisions well. Extreme dependency signifies immaturity. For example, if you need to depend on others for money, or always rely on friends or parents to be with you constantly, or you cannot speak up for yourself, then you are not yet mature. Of course, everyone needs help, but being too dependent is never a good thing.
Irresponsibility: Irresponsibility can be a sign of immaturity in ways. Being a responsible adult means you must be dependable, keep your promises and honour your commitments with people around you. When people trust you enough to put you in charge of a situation, then you’ll know they consider you mature enough. An irresponsible person may also be unable to admit that they are wrong, and may even choose to blame others instead.
Throwing Tantrums: Okay, throwing a fit every once in a while may happen to the best of us, but most times, a mature person will be able to keep their emotions under check, especially under stressful situations. If you find yourself always screaming or throwing things around when you’re upset, then you might not be as mature as you think.
Pretense: Pretense refers to presenting a false image of yourself to other people in order to impress them. This is something immature people tend to do because they feel that they need to pretend to be liked or respected. Mature people understand being truthful and honest are all you need to be respected. So if you find yourself changing your behaviour to blend in, you might be a little immature.
Lack of ambition: If you are simply content with living with your parents or friends and taking whatever they offer you, you’re in trouble. Being an adult requires you to strive for something independently, and a need to make accomplishments.
Being an adult can be challenging, so this kind of self-evaluation is important. Acknowledging that you might not be as mature as you think is a very huge step to getting there. Keep up the good job and we hope you enjoyed this video!
