To protect yourself against coronavirus, remember to wash your hands, avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, and avoid close contact with other people who are sick, particularly if they're sneezing or coughing, which are common symptoms of respiratory infections like coronavirus.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that you avoid contact with people who might have been exposed to the virus but are not yet showing symptoms. There is at least one documented case of asymptomatic transmission, meaning the virus was transmitted to another individual even though the carrier wasn’t showing any symptoms.
The World Health Organization also recommends avoiding unnecessary contact with live or dead animals, washing your hands after contact with any animals, and making sure any meat you eat is fully cooked through.
Talk to your doctor if you feel any symptoms of coronavirus, and visit CDC.gov for updated travel health notices.
