Learn how to custom make your own sewing machine cover! In this video I teach you how to take the measurements needed and translate them onto fabric to create a cute cover for your machine. This is a great beginner project and requires only a few materials to create! All you need is the fabric of your choice, fusible fleece (or batting/felt) and a coordinating thread.
Fabric used in this tutorial is from the Jay McCarroll Habitat line for FreeSpirit: http://freespiritfabric.com/core-pages/gallery.php?gal_id=359

Measuring/ cutting requirements:
Measure the length, width and height of your sewing machine and write those numbers down. If the measurement is close to the next inch measurement up, go ahead and round it up. This will help you account for your seam allowance.
1. Take your length measurement and add 1".
2. Then calculate your height + width + height measurement. In other words, the height measurement x 2 + width.
The measurements you end up with in steps 1 & 2 are the length and width measurements of the large fabric piece you need to cut for your cover.
Then you will need 2 side panel pieces that measure height x width of your machine.
Also cut 3 corresponding pieces of Pellon Fusible Fleece to match your fabric pieces.
