The number one way humans move around their environment is by walking, at least until we all have our legs turned into wheels or scooters. This video is the culmination of weeks of learning where everything from the foot to the top of the head leads to gait. Once we know the normal gait cycle we can begin to find deviations. Think of it as a search for Easter Eggs. Can you find the deviation? If you can then you can begin to correct it. Many of our musculoskeletal and neurological impairments will present in our gait patterns.
In this video, I will demonstrate and explain some reasoning for multiple gait deviations. Watch closely and learn to use your eyes to pick them out. Once you can see it then, and only then, can you start to correct it. Improper gait patterns can lead to joint pain, muscle fatigue, and tightness. Enjoy and learn.
